What the course is about
This course will help participants understand how Canada’s government and public services work, and how they affect everyday life. Participants will learn about Canadian values like fairness, equity, and inclusion, and how they shape the way Canadian systems support people throughout their lives. articipants will discover the many services available to them in Canada, especially those that help people in need. They will also explore ways to speak up, get involved, and contribute to positive change in Canada
Time allocation: 2:30 hours of videos + 30 min. of independent activity


What you will gain

Understand the core cultural values of Canadian governance, including democracy, secularism, bilingualism, inclusivity, coexistence, and the rule of law.

Understand the electoral process and the role of citizen participation in democratic governance.

Identify the responsibilities of different levels of government in Canada.

Distinguish between the concepts of equity, equality, and inclusion and understand their significance in public policy.

Gain awareness of a wide range of social services available to the general public and specific vulnerable groups.
